With just over 6 acres of gardens Luccombe Chine House is truly an oasis of tranquillity. The garden features streams, one of which trickles under the house and falls into the chine (which can be lit by night). Footpaths meander down the chine and across the cliff.
A castellated folly makes an interesting feature and an amazing playground for children's (and some adults) imaginations; many a game of pirates has taken place here, just as it would have done originally with the original smugglers known to land at Luccombe hundreds of years ago.
Come in spring and see an array of spring flowers with an abundance of the islands wild garlic, in summer see the magnificent blooms of the famous hydrangeas, which in autumn turn to deep shades of red and gold.
We have fenced the exposed areas of the cliffs and chine and children and animals have safely played there, but due to the nature of the location parental supervision is required at all times. Also please note there a lot of steps to the beach and may be unsuitable for those unsteady of their feet.
